With the ever growing progressive status of tourism industry, the tourism department has been working on creating better services for the visitors to enhance their stay with quality tourism infrastructure. Gangtok, capital of Sikkim caters to all tourists visiting various destinations, requiring added Inner Line Permission covering international border territory. The existing infrastructure being spread out and inadequate leads to inconvenience for the visitors.
Department proposes a Tourist Facilitation/ Information Centre on the said location. The proposal envisages combination of in-situ & prefab construction method for Tourist Information Centre with covered public square to cater the requirement of large gathering during festivals and events at M.G Marg.
