Due to rapid urbanisation & massive increase in the population of Gangtok... there is an acute shortage of open space and the need to utilise this space poses a great challenge for urban planners and architects alike. In the present context, the nature of this unique space is such that it is a major link from M.G. Marg to Lall Market. So, we wanted to take an approach in our design so as to preserve the openness and appeal of this prominent and exciting open space at such height and having a 360 deg. view of the surroundings and the beautiful Mt. Kanchendzonga range.
